Notes and Scribblings I

The library has always been a place of peace and quiet thought. Today, however, there is what is a torrent of disarray to the otherwise perfectly manicured and cataloged Athanaeum -- that is to say there is one piece of paper, slightly crumpled, left behind on a spotless and gleaming mahogany desk. . .

Learning is so fascinating and multi-faceted. I suppose that’s why I’ve decided to travel Eorzea, to learn. I’m still a bit young and though I lack in wisdom that only year’s can cultivate I like to think of myself as a downright proper genius when it comes to learning.

Yes, Reina, you’re a bit of a conceited lummox but who can blame you.

I have full faith in my ability to see where I am lacking and that is why I am an amazing learner of all things measurable! So much to do, so much to see, so much to learn! I’m getting a bit overheated just thinking about it all.

While I’m beginning to make a name for myself as a Scholar I decided to learn more about the stars, such fickle things, to round me out a bit. It seems like a bunch of fortune telling mumbo-jumbo but I’m sure I’ll find a use for it. And if nothing else the cards are lovely.

And what of your White Mage studies, Reina? Well that nonsense can sit on the sidelines. I HATE the Shroud. Hate it. Hate it. Hate it. The arts are fine and all but it honestly doesn’t suit me. I have no real reason why... I suppose it’s much like my aversion to Thaumaturgy. I can do it, I just don’t want to.

So many interesting things to learn and not enough time in the day to force myself into doing things I don’t want to do. Like my new project proposals for instance! And I think I’ve found just the right chief investor for the project. Or so the stars have told me.
